Lindbird Family Update + The Lighthouse

Tonight after my Zumba dance class at the gym I saw the Lindbird family on the Costa Mesa Courtyard bench again. It was after 9pm so 8 yr old Clytis was sleeping (without a blanket). It was also very cold... so Vincent was shiverring with his arms tucked inside his shirt since he had given his jacket to his wife Shirley. So far they have turned down by all of the local resources that I know of and those that have been provided by caring facebook friends, since they all require "living within the parish" and/or documentation that is not available after being destroyed in their house fire aka the catalyst of their homeless situation. This evening I didn't have anything to donate other than a blanket that I keep in the car that I use often...So I called a friend who provides resources for Someone Cares Soup Kitchen AND The Costa Mesa Lighthouse Homeless Ministry 2 blocks from this strip mall and she referred Alyson who lives there and even tho she was already closed...found a volunteer to help her gather donated sleeping bags and food to personally deliver to The Lindbirds at their bench location...in addition I was also notified that they provide breakfast every morning, dinner every evening...and distribution of clothes, boxes of food & household items every Saturday afternoon. PLEASE Call Allyson (949) 548-7161
if you can DONATE  blankets, sleeping bags, towels, jackets, warm clothing, socks, toiletries, food, household items to www.CMLighthouseChurch.Com 1885 Anaheim Avenue Costa Mesa, CA 92627-2724
