You snatch me up and drive me before the wind;

"Teacher, don't you care if we drown?"
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves,
"Quiet! Be still!"
Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

"Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"
They were terrified and asked each other,
"Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"

the boat was already a considerable distancefrom land,
buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.
When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified.
"It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.

"Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."

Then Peter got down out of the boat,
walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid
and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.
"You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
Then those who were in the boat worshiped him,
saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

Shipwrecks With A Purpose
Shipwrecks don't mean God has left you
or that He doesn't care
Sometimes He allows what appears to be tragedy and disaster
for His good purpose
that will bless you
and others
..eventually

After Paul boarded a ship to Italy
the next day the winds were against us.
sailing had already become dangerous
I can see that our voyage is going to be disastrous and bring great loss to ship and cargo,
and to our own lives also
Before very long, a wind of hurricane force, swept down from the island.
The ship was caught by the storm
We took such a violent battering from the storm
When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days
and the storm continued raging,
we finally gave up all hope of being saved.
Paul stood up and said:
"Now I urge you to keep up your courage,
because not one of you will be lost;
only the ship will be destroyed.
Last night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve
stood beside me and said, 'Do not be afraid,
keep up your courage, men,
for I have faith in God
When daylight came, they did not recognize the land
the ship struck a sandbar and ran aground.
the stern was broken to pieces by the pounding of the surf.
everyone reached land in safety
Once safely on shore,
The islanders showed us unusual kindness
From morning till evening he explained and declared to them the kingdom of God
and tried to convince them about Jesus
from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets.
Some were convinced by what he said, but others would not believe.
Paul stayed there and welcomed all who came to see him.
Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God
and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ
