with intent to specifically discover who gravitates to which catagory of art to be potentially mentored by professionals in the entertainment industry who are passionate about assisting others to earn a living doing what they love

yesterday after presenting the "request for donation letter" to michaels/aaron brothers as i usually do before recieving their generous contributions for every other previous event, ( at the very least, leftovers from their weekly workshops) this time since the letter specified this event as being ROCKharbor.org church sponsored, i was notified that they have a policy of only donating to previously approved charity organizations
i do already have a substancial collection of supplies for art, writing, visual journaling and jewelry making, however, since some have volunteered to assist with the expense of purchasing some supplies, we could always use xtra of the items i listed below, soas not to completely exhaust my own supply, if possible
in addition to the list of items we could use below, if you happen to have xtra to donate or if you were one who asked for a list of items to purchase... please keep your eyes open especially for any masculine items for creating art, writing, visual journaling and jewelry making
michaels paintable masks 3 for $1.49 paintable wooden treasure boxes for $1 paintable crosses for $1 large packs of jewlery making kits 2 for $3 magnets for the backs of decorated photo mattings and/or other "refrigerator art" blank large price labels/ tags with reinforced hole to decorate for bookmarks sketch books sketch pencils and erasers macrame cording, silver accessories and/or other masculine jewelry making items ribbon,glitter, jewels,chain & metal charms (we can also use the stick on nail art jewel packs for this ) * what i was mainly hoping to recieve from michaels' sponsorship was 32 plain black photo boxes with lids, embellished with brass for $1.99 each, which i thought would make a nice presentation to enclose what we are recieving for the staff gift collection so far. but now since that doesn't seem to be an option, maybe we could be on the lookout for plain large sturdy gift bags ( 2 for 99c at the 99c only stores ? ) that could be decorated at the event by some of the teens who might also want to assist with secretly assembling before presenting to the staff at the conclusion

misc ANY DONATIONS OF BLANK DVD+R / plastic cases would be appreciated for the duplication of the memory dvds to be included in the staff appreciation gift collections

~~~~~~~ UPDATE: Unbelievable Generosity! Re 7/29 talent search 4 teens in group homes
From: amagaro@rockharbor.org I have been able to secure a 16 foot wide, by 8 feet deep 6 inch high stage / the black curtain to hang behind to block out the sun / 8 mid-sized flood lights that we can hang from inside the gazebo / a generator / all the necessary cable and distribution / The Rockharbor trailer which contains a midsized outdoor sound system, a video playback rack with projector, screen, DVD and MiniDV playback, power-point capability, and a camera.
We will be able to show an image of the kids as they perform as well as record it. We will be able to show a 5 minute highlights at the end of they day, but we need to leave at least 1 hour of time to make that. We can have a second camera roving to try to catch everyone doing something. The 5 minute highlights may not catch everyone, but the DVDs to follow within 2 weeks after the event will contain footage of everyone the roving camera catches as well as full versions of the Kareoke performances. I am still gathering a crew, but am confident that I will be able to bring the people I need who already know how it all works.
In response to Tina’s email requests, when they time comes, I will take care of finding the blank DVDs.
