I am about to write the worlds shortest ministry request letter. I usually get a lot of these MISSIONS / AID TO AFRICA letters and end up giving what I can or at least shoot up a prayer for the person heading out.
Well, I guess it's my turn to be the one asking. I am heading back to Africa to lend a hand this upcoming July.
The thing is...I need to cover my expenses. If you are moved by this presentation (SEE FORWARDED DOWNLOAD), then PLEASE give any small humble amount that you can spare. I went with a wonderful team of doctors form the Boston area last summer (2005) with www.helpmercy.org last summer for 23 days and it changed my life forever. The haunting contrast between Africa's beauty and the tragic suffering of her children has stayed with me. I am now heading back out there with another organization called ROCK OF AFRICA. I need to raise $3,500.00 (MOST OF THIS IS AIRFARE AND TRANSPORTATION) not a whole lot, especially if everybody gives between $20.00-$100.00…but enough to help bring much needed medicines, clothes and food for the children. I am fully aware that I alone cannot save Africa. But I can save a few dozen kids at a time. Remember the movie, "Schindler's List"?

At the Prayer Breakfast, Bono told a story about his encounter with a man that has changed his life. He said that he used to go to this person and ask that whatever he was about to do, or the song he was writing, would be blessed. Until one day when this man told him, Stop asking God to bless what you are doing. Get involved with what God is doing because its already blessed.
